2023 Local Youth Entrepreneur of the Year

Hi, I'm Lauren-Grace "Gracie" Lowder, and I'm ten years old. I heard about Lemonade Day from a friend and wanted to learn how to run a business while raising money for a good cause and donating it to the Courage Center. I sold pink, regular, blackberry, and mango lemonade. I also sold Souvenir Lemonade cups and traditional and pink lemonade-flavored Candy. Everyone who bought a cup of Lemonade received a tiny lemon squishy as a thank you; everyone who donated money to the Courage Center received a sunshine squishy. I wrote letters to a few businesses and family members, asking them if they would sponsor me or donate the Lemonade and the souvenir cups. A Cup of Sunshine is the name of my lemonade stand. My WHY: My father passed away from an overdose four years ago. My mom is also in recovery and has been for 11 1/2 years. I picked the Courage Center to receive all profits from my sales because it provides free services and programs to help the youth and their families. I wanted to give someone else a second chance and "Be the reason someone smiles today" by getting the help they deserve.
